HOW TO WEAR SUNGLASSES






You probably have a drawerful of discarded eyewear that never quite worked on you. But once you learn how to match the shape of the frames to the shape of your face, your only worry will be finding the time to wear them all.





Triangular face: If you have a broad forehead and a narrow chin, choose sunglasses that mimic your bone structure. Light metal frames that are wider on the top than on the bottom, like aviators, are ideal. Gradient lenses will enhance the flattering effect—boldly tinted ones will not.

Oval face: If your visage is long and lean, opt for frames that accentuate its width. Heavy plastic wraparounds and sunglasses with oversize, geometric lenses are on the list of styles that balance oblong features nicely. To be avoided at all costs: delicate, John Lennon–style frames.

Round face: Full cheeks and a curved jawline call for frames with a contrasting angular shape. Boxy plastic or metal pairs in a size that won’t overtake your face work equally well—just make sure the corners are slightly rounded, not sharp, or you’ll look like you’re channeling Neo in The Matrix.

I'm glad that i was invited for the show,well supposingly i should thks my friend,jonathan,without his departing to HK to interview tanya's gracefully well commented solo concert,i think i would have to crash my wallet for this movie

what is 10,000BC all about?

-by now most of u've probably seen the trailers for it,an epic film about the time when spirits ruled the land and mighty mammoths shook the earth.That's right,the one with the giant elephant-like creatures with sharp horns and cool savage-looking characters.The film spins the tale of a young hunter D'LEH,played by steven strait,who must rescue his damsel in distress,the beautiful EVOLET,portrayed by camilla belle. Both the stars might look aliens to u,but i think that these 2 will become household names pretty soon,especially if 10,000BC turns out to be as gd as i think it could be.However,if u cant wait to see the both of them on screen,here's a little bit more about the hunk and hunk-ette....(opens 6th march)

STEVEN STRAIT,21. The tortured leader of the super-powered boyband-like good guys in THE COVENANT and the aspiring emo-rock musician who didnt take his shirt off enough in UNDISCOVERED.Oh,and he was also in SKY HIGH.

CAMILLA BELLE,21. If you're a fan of the indie film scene(like me),you may have spottted her in THE BALLAD OF JACK AND ROSE and THE CHUMSCRUBBER.She was most recently seen screaming her lungs out in horror flick,WHEN A STRANGER CALLS.

when i got home that night my brother passed me a small parcel,to my surprise it was kenji latest album,together with it pre-order hp strip.Thks to ah-jiao,my taiwanese DJ fren,she actually remembered that i love kenji haha and she even wrote me a small note to warn me not to rip the cd or send any of his songs out(except those that had been played on air) because the official date of it release is 14th march,and i received kenji album like 10days earlier. Omg would his record label in singapore sue me if they see this haha.I shall review his album after it releases in the whole-asian market.

what is rule #1 all about?

-this supernatural killer helmed by local director kelvin tong,who brought us THE MAID(2005) and MEN IN WHITE(2007),centres on distress calls received by the police force.Each day,185 phone calls are received;out of these,180 are about rapes,murders,robberies and kidnappings,but the other 5 begin with 'there's something stranger in my house...' But the ghostbusters aren't coming to rescue this time;instead the movie reveals what happen when the police take time to investigate what they assume are oddballs with trigger-happy fingers (opens 13th march)

Had been missing A ever since we last met...i'll always remember the very 1st day when we saw one another,the graciously smile and innumerable eye contacts.After talking to A i could feel a profound attachment forming between us,but i also felt uneasy because A seem so dissemble towards it feeling. Though all the while we made no effort to see each other.Also,part of me didnt want to disturb my sweet memory of A.Regardless,i harboured a secret wish that one day i could see A at where we first met...now i'm sure that my dream had come true,can u believe i saw A actually on 29th feb which was like leap years.So are we suppose to meet every 4yrs from now on?? And we met at our fren's pub opening;same interior but different location.I never expected to renew our relationship.I simply believed that A was the only person on earth who could understand me and with whom i could share my thoughts.Last night was the 2nd time in a wk we'd met in pub, just wanna say i really missed u a lot and seeing u that often was really pleasing.

ler's mood for the week: swinging. I'm happy to see the guys again,its been awhile since we last gather up. lers-movie of the week: i hasnt got time to catch a nice show this week so i shall recommend an upcoming movie instead;one that looks nice(hopefully) by judging from it poster/trailers

21-even though it centers on a tired topic-vegas high rollers-21 isnt just another story about beating the odds.The big screen adaptation of the book Bringing Down the House,in which a geeky MIT student uses his math ability to become a dorked-out Danny Ocean,is more about an oddly compelling character,Ben Campbell(Jim Sturgess),than it is about high stakes drama.We root for Campbell as he woos his crush(Kate Bosworth),double-crosses his professor(Kevin Spacey),and sticks it to the casinos.With a summer of save-the-world crusaders on the way,he's the kind of hero you can get behind,even if his luck does eventually run out....a teens version of oceans trilogy

Recorded in his eco-friendly,solar-powered studio,johnson's fifth album features more electric guitar sounds.The hawaiian singer/songwriter again chants his feel-good mantras about the environment,and teams up with JP Plunier(who's responsible for 2001's Brushfire Fairytales)

lers all time classic:Fish leong-kissing the future of love: Jay Chou,Mayday,Cheer Chen,Tanya,Sandee Chen...with a roster of contributors that reads like the who's who of mandopop,Fish eighth album sounds mighty impressive even before i play it.Thankfully,it more than measures up to expectations.Thoughtful,whimsical,quirky and romantic,Fish's love songs are balm for the bruised soul.My pick's 'petty',a playful,jazzy duet with Cheer about 2 girls who love the same guy,secretly wishing that the other would give him up.Cheer's sweet,slightly husky voice blends so deliciously with Fish's deeper pipes against the sexy saxophone-clarinet arrangement that i wish that the 2 had got together earlier. 'Cola ring' brings back memories of being young,foolish and painfully innocent;Mayday singer-songwriter Ashin's awshucks lyrics about a pull-tab engagement ring and a promise of eternal love scribbled on a sweet wrapper are particularly endearing.'Amnesia' is surprising in that it doesnt sound at all like Jay's work---it's a sedate little tearjerker that's actually quite good.'Too blur' is another pleasant surprise for Fish's attempt at singing in the taiwanese dialect,something she pulls off quite remarkably.Musically,this isnt an adventurous album.Emotionally,it continues to strike new chords in me---not an easy feat,considering this is her eighth album.

lers dream-house:The primary colours and unconventional shapes of these flats made me smile but though they may be adorable,these arent merely renderings or styled for the sake of style.These are the 'reversible destiny lofts-mitaka(in memory of Helen Keller)',they're real and have a dead serious objective behind their cheery facade....Each flat is priced roughly at US$750,000.

lers-movie of the week:both show were great,letting go either one is a sin.Well let me begin with NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN-this is definitely a must-watch of the week,its directed by the COEN BROTHERS(previously from O Brother,Where Art Thou?),also starrring TOMMY LEE JONES,JOSH BROLIN and JAVIES BARDEM,who recently received the best supporting actor nod at the golden globes and oscar.This film is at once a coen classic and possibly even their best yet, a brutal crime drama that reminds us of their technique,their eye for absurdity,their ear for language,a rueful meditation on ageing and the seemingly unequal battle between the gd and evil.JAVIES BARDEM's implacable killer,armed with a pneumatic gun and sporting that incongruous Buster Brown do,was the scariest bad guy to stalk a screen in years.But what really distinguished his turn in the show was the wry humor he brought to the role,as if his maniac was in on a cosmic joke everyone else failed to appreciate.Without any hot contender in the supporting category,my bet will be on BARDEM cuz he blew away not only his victims and his audiences too.
up next is PERSEPOLIS-my friend and i loved this movie.lt shows the events in Iran starting with the toppling of the shah through the eyes of a nine yrs old,growing from little girl into a young women.The perspective,relative to the age of the girl is captured wonderfully.In parts immensely funny,often rather touching,and in parts of course sad,given the slice of history it is representing,for all i can tell (and yes,i'm wise enough to tell,and have followed media reports of all sorts over the yrs) everything that is presented as fact is historically accurate.I highly recommend this film,as it shows(what we of course know) that Iranians are human beings just like you and i

lers-record of the week:lenny kravitz-IT IS TIME FOR A LOVE REVOLUTION:nineteen yrs after making his debut with LET LOVE RULE,lenny kravitz,forever the flower child,is still preaching abt the power of love.And while not making any radical changes-the dude remains a disciple of classic rock-he has rarely delivered his message with more passion and hook-heavy punch.From the anthemic ' love revolution ' which calls for a 'new constitution' to the country-tinged ballad ' if you want it ' ,one of several tunes that reveal a deeper spirituality,kravitz is in top form.The album closes with two antiwar songs,including ' black in vietnam ' ,which addressing the Iraq conflict,draw unfortunate parallels with the past.
