Iron man

Superb Iron Man

A show for all Marvel comics lover or those who love action and sci-fi movie. Iron Man played by Oscar-nominated actor Robert Downey Jr, is a billionaire playboy industrialist who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Downey Jr is recognized by some as being one of the most talented and acclaimed actors of his generation. His versatility sets him apart and makes him an ideal fit to play such a complex character; a guy with incredible intelligence and ingenuity that builds a high-tech suit of armor to escape captivity. He discovers a way to revise his armor to protect the world as the avenger Iron Man. Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow stars as his secretary and Terrence Howard and Jeff Bridges play very solid supporting roles in this adrenaline-raising film. Manage to catch the Gala-premiere of Iron Man on tues evening...my company Don-don said the show was an old man version of Transformers. Do i agreed with him?? Well judging it as the 1st blockbusters of the year( pardon me if i'm wrong cuz i never fancy abt blockbusters) i seriously think that Iron Man had given me an awesome visual and entertaining experience; generally Iron Man is a must-watch movie of this season, its terrific performance of those characters definitely produce 'ironic effect' on you upon leaving the cinema, quick go book ur tickets for this weekend!!!

That's not all......Thanks Geoffrey and friend who attended the Gala-premiere. Sorry to hear that Darren is working OT as a free labour, dun worry there's more chances ahead. As for my pet-bird Winston Choo, he's so sad that he couldn't watch it due to some experiment at work...hmm so i guess lets just name him Iron-Bird to allow him to feel the 'power' even without it presence haha

ending of week no.17

Ending of week no.17

Lers mood for the week: Ultimately happy. So far this had been a great week for me, i'm able to find some joy in life while tasking at the same time. This's also the week of my ex-classmate MING FANG birthday; as a sincere friend like me i took the effort to travel down all-the-way to her workplace to pass the gift and cupcakes. I always love to see others to be happy esp when i'm the creator haha, sharing joy with others had always been part of my motto in life. Here with no return i'm asking; just purely out of good heart, mind and soul. I too experienced lots of 1st time this week. Apparently i had fun with a SEXY and CHARISMATIC guy, at the speed we're accelerating none of us could hardly catch a gasp. The motion of going up and down had been chilling yet thrilling....OOPS, i hope i didnt mislead u guys, i was actually talking abt my ice-skating experience. On thurs, i went JB with the birthday gal(above)and i given my 1st pedicure and medicure sesssion to a FAT UGLY BITCH, suay!!!!!

Lers record of the week: LEONA LEWIS-SPIRIT: The singer who cant stop 'bleeding love', The X-Factor winner Leona Lewis is the one and only reality TV talent show winner in the world to be given a major global launch with a debut album. Spirit displays Leona's talent show-winning trademark sweet and soaring vocals. What's more, the album also displays her talent as a top-notch balladeer as proven on tracks such as 'forgive me', 'angel' and 'i will be'(which is a totally heart-wrenching song). This album might not be everyone's cup of tea. If u r looking for an all ballad/pop album, then good for you, u've hit the jackpot. But if u're looking for an album you can dance and swing ur head to, then sad to say, u have to look elsewhere. Overall, spirit is a highly impressive debut album. Although Leona could do better with some up-tempo songs, her ballads are very solid, seriously. The perfect album for those lovey-dovey moments.

Lers movie of the week: THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL- Would this movie have delivered a more rousing charge if the leads had switched roles?? As in, Natalie Portman's witchy sexpot and Scarlett Johansson's placid pudding pot are a tepid twosome in this true tale of teenage sisters who battle it out for Henry VIII's affections in 16th century England. The other boleyn girl tells the little known story of Mary Boleyn(Johansson), who was the younger sister of Anne Boleyn(Portman). It was Mary who first bewitched the married Henry(Eric Bana) and bore him a child, only to see calculating Anne steal him away and wed him. As the film gallops swiftly thru several college courses worth of Tudor history, it emphasizes plot over character development and subtlety. Portman works way too hard trying to be a vixen, while Johansson seems bored with her put-upon heroine. Best here is Kristin Scott Thomas, as the girls mother, a woman whose wit and tongue are sharp enough to cut through all the heavily costumed frippery.

Lers favourite movie of all time: BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD(2007), starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ethan Hawke and Albert Finney- This film features excellent cinematography, and is a suspense thriller abt a New York family that's breaking apart. The Hanson bros, Andy(Hoffman), who is a drug-abusing stockbroker and Hank(Ethan), who struggles to make alimony payments, are at each others throats. Andy and Hank's lives begin to unravel when Andy convinces his brother to rob their parents jewelry store. After their plan falls apart, it results in a series of tragedies. In the end, it all makes for a haunting portrayal loss.

Lers seeing double: One's the A-list taiwanese singer/composer KENJI WU. The other's the star of movie-hit Harold & Kumar JOHN CHO

Lers craving for the week: Haagen-Dazs Rum & Raisin ice cream- Its flavorful taste added a tip of sweetness to my mouth, yummy!!!

Lers dream-painted clock: The one-of-a-kind Nutime art clocks that function as both artwork and timepiece. These are designed by artists in the US and hand-painted in Shanghai.

oh yes we love gossip

Oh Yes We Love Gossip.......

While not everyone is willing to admit, everybody loves a juicy piece of gossip. Having banked on that, Gossip Girl is now one of this season's biggest TV hits. Set in Manhattan's Upper East Side, Gossip Girl is about the lifestyle of affluent prep school students who go about their luxurious daily routine with popularity, fame, scandal and most importantly, gossip, enshrouding their lives. To make the series even more interesting, it is narrated by the seemingly omniscient Gossip Girl (voice by Kristen Bell), who runs a blog abt her fellow Upper East Siders, constantly stirring the plot and creating potential rivalries in this exclusive and vicious circle of frens. Based on Cecily von Ziegesar's best selling novels, the teen drama is not only packed with enough twists and turns to keep our head spinning, but has a gorgeous young cast (Chace Crawford yeah!!)chockfull of fresh faces.

how to wear summer black tie

How to Wear Summer Black Tie

RELAXED-You don’t have to deviate much from the classic tuxedo to get a look that skews less formal. Aim for easy elegance—easy being the operative word. Skip the tie, unbutton your collar, and add a simple white pocket square.

ICONIC-A pale-pink tuxedo jacket with black lapels echoes the glamour of forties Hollywood (picture Cary Grant in a white one). Modernize the relaxed-formal look with an icy-blue pleated shirt—hold the tie—and slim-cut black pants.

KHAKI-If your tan suit is in heavy rotation after Memorial Day, its dressier counterpart will be similarly indispensable. Have on hand a tan polished-cotton tuxedo with peak lapels, tab-front trousers, and a crisp white shirt, and no summer event will ever present a wardrobe conundrum.

DENIM-You can still make use of the traditional tuxedo during flip-flop season—just mix it with your favorite pair of broken-in jeans. Keep the top classic—one-button jacket, bow tie—and stick with elegant patent-leather lace-ups.

COLOR-A powder-blue shirt with fine pleats gives a sober black tuxedo an irreverent, appropriately summery edge. For an evening wedding, add a slim silk bow tie—but skip the cummerbund.

ending of week no.16

Lers mood for the week: Busy with Joy. Another young celebs couple split up-the former couple was caught out for dinner in Manhattan last November. Chace Crawford and Carrie Underwood made such an comparable couple....It was told that Crawford often hit the nightlife scene without her, yet friend of Crawford says his flirting were exaggerated. Girls would throw themselves at him, but he never did anything. Another report also stated that it all went wrong with Carrie as she couldn't stand a guy who is younger and sooooo Metrosexuals...Whatever the truth behind i hope they can get back together...

Lers movie of the week: Street Kings-Meet Tom Ludlow(Keanu Reeves), an expressionless, tough-as-nails veteran LAPD officer who will not hesitate putting a bullet in ur head. When his ex-partner is killed in front of his eyes, he sets his sights on tracking down the killers at all cost, with guns blazing of course. With the backing of his boss Captain Wander(Forest Whitaker) who covers up Tom's deadly trails and Tom teams up with rookie cop(Chris Evans) to bring the murderers to justice. Ladies!!! Meet the hunks of tomorrow, all neatly stuffed into this Hollywood blockbuster.

Lers record of the week: Mariah Carey-E=MC2: Pop goddess Mariah Carey scaled Olympian height with her last album, 2005's Grammy-winning, 6 million selling The Emancipation of Mimi. Certainly, E=MC2 doesnt equal its predecessor. Still, this is a satisfying follow up, heavy on hip-hop flavoured midtempo jams(like the irresistible No.1 hit 'Touch My Body') and beat-driven ballads(best is the pretty,piano-laced 'I Stay in Love'). The disc occasionally strays from that formula on cuts like the churchy closer 'I Wish You Well'. But the highlight is 'Side Effects', the CD's darkest and most personal track, which seems to allude to her failed marriage to music exec Tommy Mottola.

Lers all time favourite: Cheer Chen-Sophisticated(2005): Cheer Chen, a chinese-indie pop singer with the looks of a magazine model came back with her 4th solo album. The taiwanese-composer singer wrote all the tracks on her album. The girl is more than capable of strumming and guitar picking while hitting the high notes and showcasing that breathy, angelic voice of hers to perfection. While cheer shows off her voice with ease, i think most of her lovely-dovey tunes are rather undistinguished. Her best bet is to experiment with more layers on her tracks and upping the beats or she'll risk sounding like Penny or Mavis Fan. Yet, this is one of those albums that's breezy with lots of feel-good moments to share albeit being slightly predictable. A solid album, i cant wait for her 5th album to be release later this year

Lers star strike:5stars *****

Lers craving for the week: CUPCAKES-Attention all cupcake or Hightea lovers. The store PAISLEY & CREAM located at CENTRAL CLARKE QUAY. They are having 1 for 1 cupcake promotion from 21-25 Apr, a purchase up to 6 cupcakes per customer, so hurry before the promotion ends!!!!

Lers seeing double: Celebrities who look alike and no one seems to know why. One's the lead in local movie industry QI YU WU, the other's the contestant of Channel U variety You Are the One ZHENG JIANFENG

Lers dream-sleeping spot: Capsule Inn Akihabara-located in Tokyo; the tiny and non-spacious cabin is barely larger than a coffin. It's an ideal accommodation for backpackers and working adults who are lazy to return home after work. Also for people like me who love and kept wondering how is like sleeping in the coffin hahaha.

my little pet

My Little Pet

I'm mobbed with work!!! I missed those days when i enjoy the sun and swim, when i heartedly-laugh out loud in the theatre and when i talk the most during dinner. Things had been changing around me and i believe i've got to go thru all before getting on the right track....I want to shed off my load or at least share it with someone;often the clamorous voice inside me were protesting. I'm so far away from relieve......
The above picture is delicated to MR WINSTON CHOO CAI MIN, officially he's my pet bird now haha for whatsoever reason this almost famous bird had a 3 sec flash-blink scene towards the end of the movie FORBIDDEN KINGDOM. So everyone say HI to my new pet!!!

Ending of week no.15

Lers mood for the week: Averagely happy. On the latest episode of American Idol,i'm disappointed that Michael Johns;one of my favourite among all had been exit out from his idol's dream...damn it!! He's the competition's alpha male: hunky, talented and just plain charismatic. Girls love him, guys want to be him. His version of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' had since won my heart..So now i really hope the remaining 3 guys left on stage will hopefully *crossfinger* be the final 3 for this season otherwise i shall set the remote on hand....OFF

Lers record of the week: Gnarls Barkley-The Odd Couple: Were it not for the success of 'Crazy'--the insanely catchy hit that propelled Gnarls Barkley to platinum sales and 2 Grammys for their 2006 debut, St.Elsewhere--the collaboration between singer Cee-Lo Green and producer Danger Mouse might have been just a one -off project.Thankfully it wasn't. The Odd Couple shows that the pop world would be a lot more boring without this twisted twosome. While there's nothing here as genius as 'Crazy', it's another trippy journey into psychedelic soultronica. Highlights include 'Run (I'm a Natural Disaster)', the speedy, shimmying first single. Who's Gonna Save My Soul', a gritty,gospel-infused plea and 'Whatever', on which these outsiders connect with the alienated teenager inside
Best track: 'Surprise'-hand-clapping,60's grooving euphoria

Lers movie of the week: The Leap Years- I only manage to catch leap years on monday, kind of late but is always better than i missed it right haha...A beautifully drafted movie,it tells a tale of Li-Ann(Wong Li-Lin),a dreamer and a strong believer in the soulmate theory. That's until she meets Jeremy(Ananda), and it's love at first sight. The couple spend their 'honeymoon' period touring Chinatown on 29 Feb 1980. And as all fantasies play out,Li-Ann gets her heart broken when Jeremy confesses that he's married. He decides to make it up to her by meeting her at the same time, same place, every leap year. This affair spans a period of 20 years until they realise that in order to fulfil one another's desires, they have to take a leap of faith.

Lers funny-bonny movie of all time: She's The Man(2006),starring Amanda Bynes, Channing Tatum and Robert Hoffman- Viola, played by the lovable but slightly annoying Amanda Bynes,is a big soccer-maniac. Imagine her devastation when her soccer team was cut from school!! In order to continue playing, Viola disguises herself as her twin brother, and takes his place at his new boarding school for two weeks. Things go smoothly until she falls in love with her new roommate,Duke! And to make matters worse,Viola is so convincing as a man that the beautiful Olivia gets a crush on her! And to complicate things even more, Viola's twin brother finally turns up. Haha this's definitely a movie that tickles my funny bones....
Funny-striker: 5STARS*****

Lers craving for the week: Many many many scoops of ice-cream

Lers dream-lamp: The white table lamp is so graphically designed that it looks like a helmet; if it colour is in orange does it look like one of the character from SOUTHPARK??

The big-orange Mushroom

The Octopus-ceiling lamp

The nipple-on-the wall lamp

Lers mood for the week: The lonesome & unhappiness had gradually declined..The next phrase of life are just right ahead of me or perhaps not. I'm now living in 2 different zones, one divine me away from reality yet another draw me closer to it...I'm sorry for all the neglection occured, this might not be the right time to express myself but still i'm glad those who had supported me and lead me tactically. Thanks so much!!

Lers movie of the week-The Bucket List: Two eldery men, both cancer patients with a yr left to live, go on a madcap bender of all the things they want to do before they die (Indeed, the movie's title refers to the list of things they want to do before 'kicking the bucket'.) It's a potentially dull premise until you find that the old geezers are played by none other than Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, doyens of cinema comedy. The world tour that ensures makes no pretense of actually having been filmed on location: their stops at the Taj Mahal and the Pyramids are clearly no more than a little soundstage trickery. Also, Freeman and Nicholson will undoubtedly be the most robust final-stage cancer patients you'll ever seen in reel-life or real-life. But as road trip movies go,this one serves up the poignancy and slapstick admirably.

Lers record of the week: Once a musician, always a musician. Kenji proves he still make market-like,funny and humourous tunes in his fourth self-composed album that can either (a)put u to sleep or (b)have u singing along. The 1st single 'Poem for You' definitely stands out with it 'Twinkle twinkle little star' as opening melody, together with its rhythmic lyrics, soon it gonna hit the KTV chart. Also, look out for his soppy song dedications to all those-in-love! (the song 'hold hold hold hands')Awwww.....am i a sucker for his sentimental crooners? Remember 'General Order' and all his happy strumming from 'Big Tongue'? Unlike his previous album, poem takes on a less sunny outlook and looks at the darker and more political side of life. In the track 'My Legend', he laments abt his sadlistic life before hitting the trone as a top male singer. It's difficult not to love him with that track. The album should grow on you with each subsequent listen. Whilst the former cheeky looks at more serious issues, warm and drifting melodies still abound.

Lers all time favourite: Wang LeeHom-UNBELIEVABLE (2003): On Unbelievable, Lee Hom gives us more of the straight-up honky-tonk and working class ballads he's been delivering since his 1995 debut. The track 'Ya Birthday' and 'Boyfriend' is a stomping tongue twister abt an average Joe who's looking to blow off some steam after punching the clock all week, while first single 'Love is all around' is a touching,fiddle-laced tale of a man whom desiration for world-peace and a simple, God-fearing life. For those who admired his numerous wording of rap 'Love Love Love' wont fail to fulfill u. At some 30mins, Unbelievable is a bit of a long haul. But with material this solid, it's pretty easy to lay back and enjoy the rest.

Best Track: 'You Not There'-a beautifully composed hom-styled ballad

Lers Star Strike: 4 stars ****

Lers craving for the week: Chilli Crab

Lers dream-rack: Piola Pop, unscrewable pegs in 8 different colours on a semi-glossy lacquered board that can be left leaning against the wall or hung up

Piegato, holds up to 10kg and also as a magnet board

The hackey rack displays a pure white front without the graffiti and includes 2 large and small floor standing unit

spreading the fat

Spreading the Fat

When one person is overweight, close friends can pack on the kilos. I read on a recent medical study,in which they declared that people can actually 'catch' obesity from close friends.
When researchers followed 12,067 people over 32 yrs, they concluded that those of us with very close friends who are obese have a 171 percent higher chance of becoming obese too. The theory goes: We're influenced by our friends, and if they overeat, we may unwittingly follow their lead. Surprisingly, results shown that spouses have less sway over the belly than close friends of the same sex. The gd news is that it may also work in reverse. So is time to blacklist those 'fat' in our phonelist and start hanging out with thin people and we might lose weight HAHA....

how to wear a Khaki suit

How to wear a Khaki Suit

FORMAL-A khaki suit can be just as elegant as a dark one. The trick is to skip the bright colors and stick with an otherwise black-and-white palette: a crisp white shirt with a starched collar, a black tie adorned with a silver tie bar, and a belt and a briefcase in glossy coal-colored leather. Add an alabaster pocket square and the outfit's as refined as a tux.

RELAXED-Khaki suits are made for daytime events with loose dress codes. Reinforce the informal aesthetic with a chambray shirt, a striped sweater vest (in a thin cotton that won't add bulk), and a belt, a bag, and shoes in tan leather or suede. White sneakers-spotless ones;are also a fine complement.

PREPPY-Sand-colored cotton's preppy roots make it a perfect backdrop for bright color and boat shoes. Pair a khaki suit with a green-and-pink-striped tie, docksiders, and a collared shirt or a polo in a sherbet hue like tangerine or raspberry. Avoid overkill by staying away from whale pants and sailboat motifs.
