I hope everyone had enjoyed their xmas eve, this festival season is all abt sharing ur joy with ur families and loved ones..Currently i'm in taipei, will be back on the 5th jan...i guess this'll be my final post for the yr 2008...Before i end this entry, let me present LeeHom's latest album cover to those who are viewing this. Based on the best-selling novel by Stephenie Meyer, Twilight tells the story of a passionate and unexpected romance between Bella, a quiet soul, and Edward, an irresistible vampire. The relationship is unorthodox, to say the least, but when a travelling clan of vamps wanders into town, that's when things really get interesting. I personally think that fans should be pleased as the movie has stayed true to the book and Robert Pattinson, as hairy as he seems to be off-screen, really does make a pretty vamp. If you're a young adult who likes your romance with a vampish twist, go watch this. For what it's supposed to be-a story of a modern day Romeo and Juliet with a supernatural bite.

After yrs of churning out lifeless romantic comedies, Hollywood has finally rediscovered the joys of pure, unadulterated love. Which, in Pixar's latest computer-animated tour de force, just happens to occur between two robots. Wall.E, a trash-compactor doing mop-up duty on earth after everyone has fled, falls head over rollers for a probe-droid named Eve- following her into space as she is whisked back to her ship. The film features little dialogue but is fluent in the language of love, from Wall.E's awkward initial attempts at affection to bliss of a first kiss. Bravo.

Yoz!! I'm glad to know that LeeHom is having a concert in Taipei on the 19th and 20th sept, apparently his 19th slot had already been sold out during the first day when the tickets was unleashed. A month after LeeHom's concert, we've got Kenji, performing on his actual birthday 18th oct for his very first concert ever since he entered the showbiz in the year 2000. I would really like to go for both concert, but seriously the dates are too close and i really need to make a decision out of the 2. The crazy ones advise me to take one month leave and go for both. The thinking ones advise me to go for Kenji, since he's not so popular in sg so is unlikely he would hold a stage here. The supportive ones advise me to go for Leehom, as my all time idol i should heart him than others. While the remaining hopeful ones started to pray and seeking various kind of channels, desperately, dreaming everyday and hopefully to win tickets and fly over haha. Well just right at this moment i still couldn't make up my mind yet. Btw Leehom's concert theme is called MUSICman while kenji is the MAGICman !!! I gotta admit that both posters look alike, but definitely not the music style.

Lers mood for both week: Perfectly good. Sometimes is not how the way people look at u, is the way how u look at others. Hanging out with the right group of people had always be part of my philosophy in life. We often use the easy term 'click' to describe those whom shared the same interest. Truthful to say, u might just known a person for months, but the sense of mutual friendship is always around when u are being with them. Others could just be 0.1m away yet u just cant be bother. Friendship doesn't need hardwork to maintain; is the way u behave and how u treat others. Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JINGHUA!!!

Lers worst movie for both week: The Happening-Another disappointment from twist-meister M.Night Shyamalan.The show begins auspiciously enough, with an airborne toxin causing mass suicides in New York. A terrorist attack?? Not likely at the rate it's spreading. Basically the film doesnt answer the question 'what's happening'??, so if u like ur movies coherent, you might be in for some trouble. And A-list star Mark Wahlberg, who went from underwear model to Oscar nominee,makes me cringe in my seats with stiff performances and lack of charisma. Shame. In the end, i was left with a frustrating anti-climax and the sense of a great imagination gone to seed.

Get Smart-Anyone who's seen the silly 1960's TV show Get Smart, abt a hapless spy, will be utterly disappointed by this lackluster big-screen version, which is drained of all character. Anyone coming in fresh will just be bored. Steve Carell, a spy analyst on his first field mission. Anne Hathaway looks gorgeous as his partner, but they've got such a monumental lack of chemistry that the inevitable romance that develops is ridiculous. The plot is thin and surprise-free, and jokes sit there awkwardly as though waiting for a laugh track to kick in. There are a few amusing scenes, but Get Smart just wasnt worth reviving.

Lers record of the week: Alanis Morissette-Flavors of Entanglement: This album is truly an expressive record and it's blatantly obvious that her painful break-up with Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds is where Alanis Morissette draws most of her inspiration. What else could we expect from Alanis especially since Ryan has now moved on to golden busty bombshell Scarlett Johansson?? But the singer is not as angry as she was on 'You Oughta Know'. On some notes, she sounds almost sad. She openly mourns for a love lost and expresses herself on song like ' Not As We' and 'Torch' in which she confesses the things that she misses most abt her ex-lover. This is easily the strongest album the 33 year old has produced since. Heartfelt and emotion-invoking, Flavours of Entanglement should be spun at least once, if only to hear how the singer has continued to grow thruout the years.

Lers seeing double: One's the lead in Spiderman, Tobey Maguire. The other's the most Wanted rising star, James McAvoy, who's most well known for his character in The Atonement

Seriously i had watched Sex and the City exactly a mth ago, i just couldn't figure out a nice and delicate way to review it. I love the show but its the kind of indecisive love with a slight disappointment. In this movie no one will feel left out, even the males, because we'll be able to see the situations of Mr.Big and Steve unfolding out for them, which serves as a subtle warning to what they do with their own lives. The movie shows 4 yrs after the season finale of the tv series. The opening of the film is cleverly made, and it is still as witty and crude just like in the past. But it also feels like a few episodes of the show on tv crammed into a 2-hrs long movie, and its a little draggy. The movie doesn't have it's own pace. It's not snappy enough overall, which is actually what the life of the elites is all abt. Changes can happen in an instant. But no matter what happens, it's wonderful to have frens that stand by you. Honestly, it's amazing how all the ladies can keep their figures after such a long period of time, but that's expected if u are a superstar and u have access to Botox. If you're still not sure if you should catch this, one thing's for sure though, if u've been a fan from the beginning, u are definitely going to love this one too. Be prepared, because Sex and the City's wardrobe is going to be outstanding.

Lers mood for the week: Blessingful. I'm happy with what i have now and starting to see things in many different prospect, not just my own views. I'm grateful to those whoever hold my hands and guide me thru, and too, who shine a path upon me and shield me when i'm feeling miserable. On the 14th june, it was LOUIS's 24TH birthday, as u can see from the pic above, he's such a camera-shy boy!!!! It's been awhile since we last met, but still we had so much to chat.

Lers record of the week: Gavin Degraw self-titled album: A collection of piano and guitar-fuelled ditties that resonate with clear emotion thruout, hook-savvy Gavin has managed to put together an album that celebrates the innocence of today's youth w/o being cliched. Standouts include the 1st single 'In Love With A Girl', an addictive track reminiscent of his signature hit 'I Don't Wanna Be', and the jazz-flavoured metaphor-packed 'Cop Stop'. Overall it's a gd album. He hasn't reinvented the wheel but displays a maturity that is befitting a musician of his time. Weaving his magic with much success once again, Gavin's fans will be more than pleased and i think that other music lovers out there should give him a shot. He deserves it.

Lers movie of the week: The Incredible Hulk- Five yrs ago, gamma radiation poisoning turned scientist Bruce Banner(Edward Norton) into the raging, avocado-hued Hulk whenever his heart rate spikes. Now he's a fugitive searching for a cure, with the military, led by obsessed General Ross(William Hurt), dad to former love Betty(Liv Tyler)---in hot pursuit, along with a maniacal soldier(Tim Roth) who becomes a Hulk gone bad: The Abomination. Norton, the only break thru character, is perfectly cast as the intense scientist with a devil inside, while Tyler as his soulmate gives The Hulk a heart. It's just under two hrs long, but the characterisation cries out for more substance. But happy to say the film does boast one true superhero----a nifty concluding cameo by Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark(aka Ironman). If only he had shown up earlier.

Lers seeing double: One is our genius child going to teens actress, DAKOTA FANNING. The other is our asian region A-list pop singer ANGELA ZHANG.

Lers newly found: Hide & Seek- Located in Hong Kong Street( directly opp Clarke Quay MRT), along those chinese medicine shops. Hide & Seek was found and opened by chief fashion designer Keith Png, who believes that his pieces speak for themselves and ppl will eventually "seek out the best in hiding". It opens from Monday to Saturdays, 11am-8pm. Checkout the website with his blog link, who he update the latest stocks arrival and new fashion trend etc.....

Lers mood for the week: Rare happiness. Attended a wedding lunch @ Rasa Sentosa on sat. It was my friend Shufen's wedding, i'm very honoured to be invite to the big rosy day of hers. Friendship is tiny yet fragile, a little motion counts. Shufen and i know each other from New Creation Church, and we gel up well due to the likeness of speaking in Mandarin, as our peers usually communicate in English with slang. We used to chat on phone and shared our problems, a friend like her is a blessing from god and also one of the reason which i believe why in the past i'm eagerly looking forward to the next service even before it ended. I'm wishing from the bottom of my heart, Happy Marriage, Shufen!!!




I was back to my old house again after all this time, it takes me back to my faded memories, living among its silences and shadows. In an house like this i can feel all the time that had passed in it accumulating and settling in those shadows, enriching the silence and cosy sadness. The silence and sadness of lives and their limitations saturates the room of mine, where i would pass the time listening to my favourite music, or watch the cable before i put myself to bed. The weight of this house's memories are more real to me than its physical presence these days.



Lers movie of the week: Kung Fu Panda-This is not as funny as the trailer makes it out to be so dont say i didnt warn you. The movie fails to fully captivate and lacks any real ups and downs so viewers like me find ourselves leaving the cinema feeling something was missing----thrills, perhaps. I want awesome-ness!!! On the surface, everything looks fine and dandy, great animation,gd work on the voices by the star-studded cast. Watch it if you're in the mood for something fluffy and mindless.

Lers record of the week: Scarlett Johansson-Anywhere I Lay My Head: When Scarlett Johansson sang The Pretenders' Brass In Pocket in the Lost In Translation karaoke scene, there were undoubtedly many in the cinema who thought to themselves, 'Hey, her voice actually isn't half bad!' And after all, with that signature husky delivery of hers, its not too much of a leap to imagine that she might sound just fine on an album of her own. Unfortunately, as an untrained singer, the future Mrs Ryan Reynolds cant quite carry it off, or carry a tune. On this compilation of Tom Waits covers, she pays tribute to the gravel-voiced singer, who's been making records since the 70s, with less than stellar results. Fortunately, Scarlett has a lucrative and successful acting career that will serve as a worthwhile backup plan to her musical efforts.

Lers seeing double: Both have got senses of the bad boy image. One is our beloved brokeback Heath Ledger, who was found died early this year and the other is actor from Mysterious Skin( 2005 ), Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Lers record of the week: USHER-HERE I STAND----Usher, who turns 30 this yr, became a father and a husband last yr, and Here I Stand position him as a family man. Such declarations of devotion as the player-repenting 'Before I Met You' and the heartfelt, Donny Hathawayesque little track sound as if they were written in between his-and-hers massages on his honeymoon. Even the steamy stuff, like the creamy-smooth 'Love You Gently', is more abt getting it on with that one special lady. Musically Usher takes a more mature stance as well, leaning heavily---a little TOO heavily----on ballads. But some killer slow jams shld help him keep millions of other ladies happy too.

Lers movie of the week: INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL-The fourth chapter of the series abt the archaeologist-adventurer is familiar and comfy but lacks snap. Set in 1957, Jones(Ford) is 19 yrs older since we last saw him. Though he can still flick a whip with deadly verve, he's now a tad surprised when he outruns, jumps or punches the bad guys. Make that bad gal, as in a Russian military scientist(Blanchett) who thinks Indy can lead her to an ancient crystal skull in South America with possible supernatural powers. Soon Jones, accompanied by a new sidekick(LaBeouf) and an old flame(Karen Allen), is chasing thru the Amazon jungle, tumbling over waterfalls, dodging bullets, uncovering a secret tomb and more. Director Steven Spielberg and his capable cast try a little too hard to recapture old times, and the effort shows. For the younger generation, Shia LaBeouf might be the only reason to watch, otherwise this is just like a vintage version of National Treasure

A quick update for those who are watching xing guang da dao season 3...Our local contestant Sugi was being booted out during last sunday recording...as for the remaining top 8 they'll continue to fight for a place in the top 7....RING RING RING....my friend called and inform me that my beloved Albert didnt make it to the next round!!!! As i was expecting a female contestant to be out since 2 guys had already left the competition...So to say, Huang Jing Lun is the only foreign contestant left to fight against those taiwanese, though i doubt he'll win but i still wish him all the best. Albert still got revival round so hopefully he use the time wisely to buck up his vocal...The seeking of top 6 and top 5 recording will be on this coming sun 8th june...

Huang Pin Guan-The Things those girl taught me: Pin Guan is pretty much a household name and despite having a distinct brand of music, the lass from Down Under has a great deal of commercial value. His first single,'The Things those girl taught me', is an excellent example of the combination of gd lyrics and a great singer. The second single,'Piao Liu', talks abt losing faith in love and later finding it again. As beautiful as the album may sound, it's just not the kind of CD u can play anytime. Pin Guan's music style is more 'faithfully down-to earth' type and not exactly a CD u would want to play on a Monday morning while heading to work. Despite Pin Guan's seasonal-like songs, it's a great CD to play when u want to unwind after a long day. The tracks are arranged brilliantly, taking us on a ride starting from losing and loving someone, to being brave and strong by ourselves. It is missing a couple of upbeat tunes, but they dont make me want to hit the snooze button either. The rhythm of the songs compliment Pin Guan's vocal range, and the lyrics on every track have at least one line that will make us smile and ponder, if only for awhile.







Madonna-Hard Candy--the early frontrunner for party album of the yr shows that, at nearly 50, she's still the undisputed champion of diva pop. But she's not the only heavyweight in the mix; Justin Timberlake, Timberland and Pharrell Williams make for a knockout writing and production team. The three, who combined to give a killer R&B dance edge to JT's Justified, do the same for Hard Candy, making it a hipper,hotter and more urban version of Confessions on a Dance Floor. Madonna proves that even diva like her can play well with others, sharing the spotlight with Tims on the big event single' 4 minutes'. Other highlight ' Give it 2 me,' a classic Madonna anthem, she's still at her best when it's all abt her.

Duffy-Rockferry: It must be something in the water. Following Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse and, more recently, Estelle. The Welsh singer(full name Aimee Ann Duffy) has already hit No 1 in the UK with her smashing debut,which arrives in Singapore two mths after being released overseas. You couldn't ask for a much better introduction than 'Mercy' the first hit single. A 6o's-girl-group throwback grooving with a 'Stand By Me' style bass line, it's the kind of knockout song that 'Rehab' was for Winehouse. Other highlights include the bluesy 'Hanging On Too Long' and the bittersweet 'Delayed Devotion'. While Duffy's torchy, tangy vocals are sometimes reminiscent of Winehouse's, she's more like the second coming of Dusty Springfield.

Jason Mraz-We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things: After a demo of 'I'm Yours', the first single off Jason Mraz's third studio album, appeared on a 2005 EP, the song became a YouTube sensation, inspiring a slew of user-submitted videos. A breezy folk-pop ditty that should make Jack Johnson jealous, it's pretty impossible to resist. The rest of this disc, despite its mess of a title, goes by smoothly too. Mraz, a real pop craftsman, makes it sound easy, seamlessly weaving jazz and funk into Jamiroquai-esque cuts like 'Butterfly' and folk, soul and gospel into the uplifting 'Live High'.

Sad to say i'm still in my Ler Ler Wonderland, i'm dreaming myself as the lastest ambassador for WHISPER ultra pad haha...somehow it reminds me of a song that goes-I BELIEVE I CAN FLY, I BELIEVE I CAN STOP THE BLOOD>>>>>>> a million apology to all the ladies out there
